Prizemoney at the 2018 Burnie Athletic Club New Year’s Day Carnival is in excess of $65,000!

The amount is a significant achievement for the long-running athletic club and given favourable weather, a great day of competition is promised.

The athletics, cycling, wood chopping and Cross Fit have again attracted the best-of-the-best to Tasmania’s most prominent single sporting event.

Athletic Club president, Ricky Aitken, says the running of the carnival this year will live up the hype as one of the ‘best day’s sporting entertainment anywhere’. He added that the club was ‘proud of its achievement in attaining wonderful sponsorship for the 2018 carnival’. Prize money is as follows. * Cycling $ 25,875.00 * Athletics $ 26,870.00 * Wood chopping $12,500.00 * Cross Fit $ 500.00 * TOTAL $65,745.00
